Library
The central Library of GNCOP was established in 2005, library provides open access facilities which helps easy access and use of the library as a learning knowledge center that has been partially automated. The reading is room available for the students from 7:30 am to 6:30 pm, during the examination period reading room is open till 11:00 pm. The Library has total area of 407.39 sq. metres. With modern infrastructure providing a congenial working environment. The library is equipped with facilities like Digital Library with Reprography, Wi-Fi enabled library campus. The library has total 8874 (1421 titles) books including text and reference books, 22 Indian Journals and 03 Interactional Journals, 7 newspapers, and also the library has subscribed for institutional membership of DELNET. Staff and students can access these resources with Login Id and Password. The library has 50 CD collections for e-books. “KOHA” library software and Microsoft Access program are used for automation of library transactions like books circulations, books acquisition, patron issues details reports etc. All computers in the library are connected through LAN.
The library is richly stocked and well organized with books, titles, national and international journals as well as electronic resources such as 200 e-journals. There are separate sections of library such as administration area, book issue section, reading section, reference section, and journal section. All the books are segregated subject-wise and shelved in the properly labeled cupboards. All the books are given accession numbers, the reference books and books for issue return are stored separately. The latest volumes and issues of the subscribed journals are displayed in the journal’s section of the library, and a separate register is maintained for tracking the issues.
The library has a seating capacity of more than 150 students at a time. Computer terminals with the latest software and free internet facility are available for student use. The library is equipped with a printing and photocopying facility for the convenience of the students. Internet facility with free downloading is provided to the students. Every student can issue a maximum of 2 books whereas for final year students 3 books can be issued to facilitate them for GPAT preparation.
